Gudday,
Hoping someone here can help me locate an FFL who exports to Australia. I have a Lilja barrel (2nd hand) and a stock in Virginia Washington State I am trying to get over to Australia.

My end is no problem as all I need is a customs import authority which I have already obtained. Im looking for an FFL in the states (hopefully near Virginia) who can assist me with exporting.

Can anyone help or know a way to simplify the process ??

thanks in advance

I sold a barrel a few months back to a guy in Australia, I mailed it to him with no problem...................Gary

Try Griffin and Howe or British sporting arms. These are the people I use for import and export.

You do not need to ship a stock through an FFL. Us Mail works fine. Cost is about $50

stock

Thanks DON, it is one of your stocks Im trying to get in. Several dealers and the US State Dept have told me that a STOCK is a firearms part and needs to go through the right channels.

It is NOT a firearms part in Australia but allegedly is in the US.

help !!!

You might want to try contacting Leroy's Big Valley Gunworks.

http://www.gunsinternational.com/results.cfm?seller=406

Couldn't find a web site but there is an email on the link page.

A friend here had them send rifles on a couple of ocassions and they were apparently very good.

You are right, technically in the USA damn near anything is a firearms part now. Sinclair catalogue even states it applies to a trigger guard or a butt plate !! Scopes and mounts are also included in that category.

????????

What ????

A stock is not a firearm , and if its a second hand barrel it also does not need a export license ....

New Barrels / triggers etc require export permits from state dep ....

Stocks do not !

And second hand parts from private seller's also dont need exp permits as long as its not an action ....

Well , as off 06-7 this was the way of things ....

HAve they changed for 08 ? Contact Sinclair int .... They know , and are not full of it ....

I am far from an expert on anything, but several of my stocks are in Australia.

Stocks are now considered a firearms part, pretty certain of that. I have no idea about second hand gear ......... Rules have changed some time recently. You'd now need a permit to get a scope out of the USA. Of course some places don't know or choose to ignore these rules which helps us poor folk on the other side of the world !! :)
