Depends which part of town you're in, as Westheimer, Hwy 6 South, and Huffmeister are worlds apart. For a list of names, look in Gun Broker, or Guns America
But, I'll say that if Fountain Firearms is in your neck of the woods, then they're the best people to do business with. I've done two transfers with them some years back. They have enough sense to do things in a manner that you will not have to worry that your gun or parts of it (like the magazine) will be stolen, or your gun gets scratched. It's easy for some sleeze ball worker at just any ole pawn shop to tell you that " it came that way."
About 3 months ago, I learned my lesson not to be a cheap ass; I had often used more then one Joe Shmoe from the transfer dealer list to save 10 steenkin bucks. There was always telephone tag involved, and special hours to meet a guy either at his Public Storrage style rental space, or at his official gun shop after he finished his regular day job. (ie; we would meet in his house at his kitchen table) The last guy I used to do the transfer had his office address and home address crossed, so that the seller didn't know where my $1,000 rifle was supposed to be shipped. My rifle (shipped uninsured by the seller) floated around without the Post Office having any clue where it was. I didn't know if it was left in an office hallway somewhere, or in front of the transfer agents house to end up stolen. Whenever I called for updates about it, (while trying to hold back panic), it sure didn't seem to bother the seller nor my transfer agent very much that it was lost. But I lost 2 nights of sleep worrying about where my new $1,000 rifle might be. Never again! Now I only use REAL GUN SHOPS that are open all day, 6 or 7 days a week......even if it costs me another $15 more and an extra 5 minutes of gasoline.
