I have a chance too buy a used 2600 FWB, but I really want a 2700 FWB.
My purpose is to build a benchrest gun.
My question is what is the difference in the 2600 and the 2700.
Thank you for any input.

Can't say I have ever seen a Feinwerkbau at a benchrest match.
Why a Feinwerkbau ?

Didn't Joe B. (red shoes) shoot one for a few years? He did pretty good if I recall. But I don't remember much of anything any more.

2600 vs 2700 fwb

The FWB 2600 and 2700 are essentially the same action, with the main difference being the length of the action in front of the loading port where the barrel is engaged. The 2700 action is about 2x longer than the 2600.

Bones,

I can tell you about the 2700 as I have 2 of them & my mates also have 2 of them. We have won many of the tournaments in Australia & can not fault them. The trigger is one of the best going around & the rifle is a joy to shoot. If you know any of the Team USA boys they can tell you as they had a practise of mine in Italy World Championships. I have not tried a tuner on them as they shoot so well in factory mode but down the track I am going to experiment with my 2nd rifle to create a 10.5 gun that I will hopefully bring to the USA World Championships @ Kettlefoot 2011.
