My question is will a .260 Ackley feed better from a long action or short action, I have both and would hope not to have to modify the feed rails if I can avoid it. it is a repeater and will be fed from factory bdl style mag. Thank you, Ron Tilley
Short action is better. When using a long action the round will pop out of the action because it clears the feed rails long before enough of it is in the chamber/receiver area.
I have found that the 284 will feed fine from the long action and gives me room to seat bullets out to 3.1 or so where they work a little better. Not as big a deal with the 260.
