Today we held our first BR match at 50yds, rather than 30yds, from the "upper range". We also tried out the new for us game of shooting for groups. We had a few interesting wrinkles that called for some strategy and we also had some really dodgy wind conditions that made good shooting REALLY hard.

The match consisted of ten three shot groups, and scoring was the aggregate of the ten groups.

Results were:

Dave Frederic, .549"

Tim McMurray, .568"

Matt Kellerman, .647"

Roger Lovet, .678"

Larry Durham, .735"

John Harris, .781

Ron Jobbes, DNF

As usual, we had a nice little potluck lunch, and a plinking and gun tuning session afterwards.

It was the "interesting wrinkles" that opened up the groups. Oh, and 10 grain pills at 50 yards in a gusting wind, that spread things out a bit.

Congratulations to Dave, he obviously had little trouble with that 3" hold off!

But the game has promise, just needs a little fine tuning.

And it looks like I could use a little bit of that fine tuning myself. ;)
