Farrell 1 pc base

the Sinclair catalogue lists a Farrell 1 pc base for Win 70 wsm
and one for wssm, but not for your everyday model 70 say in 243.
I'm not aware of a difference other than length. What am I missing ?

lists Win 70 long, short, WSM and WSSM bases. Could there be 4 different screw spacings, or could the short mag actions be a larger diameter?

I've never bothered to look at a Model 70, since I use Remington and Savage. (Savage has changed shape and screw spacings over the past several years) nhk
