Farley Rest Maintenance

Has anyone written up instructions on how to disassemble, lubricate and re-assemble a Farley Rest? I have done this in the past but it's been a few years.

I am in the middle of the process right now, and the plastic gadget behind the big screw to the right of the joystick has four special washers. I managed to knock the thing off onto my bench, scattering the washers, and I didn't note how they were stacked before I did it

Also, where should I lube and what kind of grease should I use? Is there any way to properly lube the joystick ball?

When I purchased the compact Farley, I was told the internal parts did not need lubrication.

I just figured out there are plastic plungers behind BOTH of the large screws and luckily the washers on the left one were still stacked, so that problem is solved.

Steve, while you are in there, you should install one of Butch Lambert's kits. It will smoothe up the movement of that rest considerably.

Farley recommends the use of a pure silicone or black molly lube. Petroleum distillates (oil) will swell the Teflon liners of the bearings and cause the mechanism to become jerky.

Joe...unfortunately petroleum based lubricant has been used previously on this rest. Jerkiness is exactly the problem I am trying to solve.

I would like to send it to Farley, but I know I would not get it back before the Super Shoot.
