Farley adjustment?

For the last few matches, my Farley rest has been sticking. So, I decided to take it apart, clean and grease. No problems with any of that until I began trying to readjust it so that both sides would come up evenly. I do have the ShadeTree adjustment screws and I am getting close, but so far, I'm not satisfied and am still getting some cant.

Are there any secrets to getting it just right or is it trial and error? I did a search before posting this, but couldn't find where it's been discussed.

TIA,
Rick

Rick, this is what I did, I put some tension on the little screw on top of the post so it wouldn't slide down by itself. Next I left the bag off and put a 13# weight on the top of the rest and adjusted the tension screws in until they just touched, then screwed each one in equally until I could move the joy stick to a position let go and the top stayed in that position. Hope this helps I didn't notice any cant.

The front plate on the farley comes with 3 hold down screws. It seemed to me that
the one on the far right ( right hand shooter) was ok, but the two on the left were quite a ways
from the screws that adjust tension. Then ,the column lock also applies pressure to that front
plate. It seemed that when everything was tightened up, the front plate was flexing, so I added
a pair of 10-32 screws just to the left of the left tension adjustment. The tension screws seem
more positive now, but I didn't get any HOF points out of it yet.
