I took a few pics of my Falcon actioned rifle for a freind who wanted to see what one looked like. I thought I'd share 'em with those who might like wood. The stock was copied from my pattern by my friend Don Stith and he did a great job selecting the wood. I enjoy looking at this rifle 'bout as much as shooting it, and it shoots very well. Pictures don't do it justice, at least the ones that Stocks 004.jpgStocks 003.jpgStocks 002.jpgStocks 001.jpgI take don't. Merry Christmas to all!!!

Very nice Kent. VERY NICE. How bout showing some pics of what it will do?? & MERRY CHRISTMAS 2 U. I have a question for you. Are the Falcon repeaters available yet???
Thank You
Dan

I shot this rifle is 10.5 and 13.5 class IR5050 matches. I didn't save any targets, but it shoots. You can view the National SOTY results on the IR5050 website if you'd like, it was second in the 3 gun national Grand AGG. and 1st in 10.5 class for the Nation. Got me some HOF points, that was nice, so It does the job. I may have a practice target out in the truck from testing ammo, but it's outside in the cold. If I can find a target I'll add a pic later. I just posted the pic to show off the wood:) I really like nice wood and Don Stith hit a home run for me when he picked this piece.
It's a classic BR stock, but it tracks like you wouldn't believe. The rifle weighs in a around 10 lbs even. I think the stock weighed 32 ozs.

On the repeaters, he should be making them after the first of the year. They were working today. I talked to Leonard this morning on the phone. I plan on going over there he first of next week to look at the repeater action. I've had a prototype BR sporter built using the Falcon action since October and it shoots very well. It uses a 52 Winchester magazine, and the darned thing actually feeds well too, even though I single load it shooting BR.
I do know folks are ordering the repeaters already. Jonathan told me that one guy ordered 4 of 'em yesterday.
Those guys have been working really hard to fill orders, and they seem to enjoy it a lot too. They work a lot of hours!!!!

One of these days that Stith guy is going to figure out how to build a stock!

Al,
I think he does a pretty good job. He definitely knows what I like when it comes to wood. Don will tell ya, that I'm pretty darned picky, but man I love nice wood! Don is a good friend and I enjoy dealing with him.
He never leaves me wondering what he's thinking if I ask a question, and he's as good as his word, and I really respect that.

Kent,
would you mind posting a pic of your falcon sporter? And what barrels are on your falcons?
Thanks
Dan

Fred,
I'm afraid to answer your question because if I go by mine, it'll be the wrong answer. Mine has the screw spacing that I asked for. My sporter action has the same spacing as a Hall because I asked Jonathan to put the screw holes in that location since I already had a completed finished stock that I'd taken off my Hall that I wanted to use in order to get it up and going faster. Takes too darn long to finish a stock, and I was in a hurry. The Falcon is shorter in length than a 40X overall. The rear screw is about the same. I will be over there at the shop on Monday or Tuesday, I'll measure one and email you the answer.

BigG, I'll try and post a pic of it later for you. I have Benchmark 4 groove barrels on both the Falcons.
There's alot of good barrels available out there. These Benchmarks is something I've been experimenting with since the first one that was made. Actually the rifle in the pic has the first button rifled 4 groove on it that they made. I had it on a 40X before I took it off and recut the shank and installed it on the Falcon.

Sorry, Kent. I was trying to rattle Dons cage not yours. I own 3 of his stocks. He must like me better than you caus "MY" stocks are way above "pretty good" but you did say you are "pretty darn pickey".:D And yes Don sure does know lumber.

No problem Al, I knew what you were doing:) Lots of nice folks in the sport, and Don is one of 'em. I give him a hard time sometimes myself, but figured I'd take it easy o him since it was Christmas.
Merry Christmas! It's been snowing all day here and it's beautiful outside, light snow covering the tree limbs making the trees white. I've fed the birds twice today. I have thier food under shelter, and they've been taking advantage of it, staying under shelter and eating.

I woke up this morning, Milledgeville, Ga., to the same sight, beautiful Christmas Card picture snowing big flakes. Birds demanding food and hot water in the baths.

Kent and Don from now on keep the cold wet crap up there where it belongs!!!

Al, have you ever visited Rock Creek Barrels shop? I took a trip up there last summer, about 2hrs for me. probably only a hop-skip-and a jump for you when you're in WI. Thanks, Douglas

Never heard of them before a prior thread. The map says 25 miles from Milton, Wi. Never been through Albany but have been to Elbern. Where do you shoot RF benchrest? I lived in Streamwood, Il. for 25 years and was a long time member of Elgin Rifle Club and Aurora Sportsmens Club.
