The conditions at Fairfax today were Nasty, At least that was the PC term for them. The warmup was pretty good but by match 1 there was a hard push with fast switches and letups and just a general mess with flags pointing in all directions, by match 3 the intensity had dropped off some but the switches and mixed up mess was still hanging around but by then most everyone had been roughed up pretty bad. Dick Spencer was the last man standing with a 249-8x score, Dick dropped a point on his last shot, Hal Drake was 2nd with a 249-6x score and he was 3rd also w 248-10x,( Hal was shooting tuners on both guns) Henry Varanian was 4th and Jack Cox was 5th
Adrian Van Gorder won modified class.Good shooting guys in some terrible conditions! I left the range before they had figured the agg for the winter league but today and last months match messed up a lot of folks aggs so it should be interesting to see who won it, maybe Shaw can fill us in later. I enjoyed it even if I did get roughed up by the conditions, the 7 min. matches worked well and most everyone was on the way home a few minutes after 2pm . See you all in 2 weeks at blackcreek, KC guaranteed better conditions or at least the targets would be closer anyway, see ya there, Steve

It was nasty for sure, I felt very lucky to only drop the points I did. I didn't have a tuner on the heavy gun for the record, just the light 30PPC. As Steve said, it got interesting in the last couple matches, so the winter league standings are bound to change around a bit. Dick had a pretty good winter considering he still can't get a barrel that shoots...

See ya at KC's

Many thanks to Ray, "Blind" Larry, Wayne and Wayne, and the target crews for helping make these matches happen. Without you guys we'd ALL be cutting the grass. :D

Yeah ole "it's shoots bug holes on the sighter but..." or better known as "this barrel is just so-so" Spencer got it done yesterday. It reenforced to me how important it is to shoot more than just at matches. Good shooting Dick.

The reticle is without a doubt the way to go being a more accurate tool. It will stop (readjust) the stampede of X's that seem to be associated with the use of the 30BR. JMO. it either is or it isn't. No more "the tear took it this way or that".....

As Wayne and Wayne said at the match, the rules read that the plug is the device to use and that an agenda item changing that wording is forth coming to make the reticle's use "official."

Great day with good friends. Thanks to all the Fairfax crew. See you guys at K.C.'s crib.
