It started off pretty cold this morning, mid teens when we were setting flags and I would guess it got to fhe low 30's by the end of the match but the wind kicked in about match time to keep everyone from overheating. The conditions were pretty tough with a lot of hard gust and fast switches and when it changed it was enough that it was going to hurt. No one managed to stay clean but Adrian VanGorder took the VFS win with a 249-10x score, Steve Stanley was 2nd w/ 249-9x and Kevin Tolley was 3rd w 249-4x. Jerry Reisdorf took the 6 power win and Holder Trumbo won Factory class. We had 16 guns on the line for the match, not too bad for a cold windy day. Thanks to Wayne France for scoring and running the target crew with an assist from Kim Llewellen, Hal Drake and Adrian called the line and Mike Morgan came by and helped setup even thou he didn't stay around to shoot with us. Thanks to all who worked and all who came to shoot, we couldn't have a match without you. See ya at the range, Steve

I second the thanks

The match went off well, the weather was January though.

Great Match

I don't care what anyone says, this was a tough match!
Rob Ritchie brought a box of hard warmers... What a life saver. I did not make it through a single match without stopping and holding that thing for a while. I had a portable thermometer on my bench and the high was 32.4 degrees. It was so cold. Agent Smith, my green Borden Rifle likes to be shot free recoil so I had to remove my coat to shoot. I froze!

Before heading home, Alex snapped this picture of Adrian (left) and Jerry (right).

To all the winners...Sure do wish I could have been there...I'm hoping to be there (with hand warmers) in February though!

Nice pic!!! :D

Congratulations Adrian, Steve, Keven and Jerry.
It was a very cold day by Our Local standards. I was outside all day partaking of another activity and it definitely was not comfortable.

Just barely freezing!

I didn't realize you folks had such warm clothing that far south. Congrats to the winners. Randy J.

Steve...

They were half undressed for the pictures, some of them had on almost more clothes than the could tote. :) steve

by God man, where's your snow? 32.4 degrees is a heat wave this time of year up here. We're hoping for tems in that range by the end of the week. I can't wait! --Greg

See you at winter meeting?

Greg, we packed up some of our snow and sent it to Pete in Florida so he wouldn't get homesick. :) I won't make the winter meeting see ya at the range . Steve

Hello to all, I am a little late in making this post.. work keeps getting in the way. I want to thank everyone for making the match a success, especially Wayne and Kim. To Adrian, you shot well.. you seem to keep making these sporadic appearances after no practice at all and manage to win. To Steve, you drove that rifle you are trying to sell REAL good, it's definitely a shooter. Jerry, way to go! That is a nice looking scope. Holder, you shot that factory rifle really consistent, I guess all that Lapua brass your wife got you for Christmas is paying off. I figure this and the fact that she now knows where your secret reloading room is located is probably the reason for your Valentine's Day post. Tommy, you are doing great! Keep up the good work. Alex, you shot well, way to hang in there. To everyone else at the match--Thanks--its always fun to shoot at Fairfax.
