Looking to get in more shooting compititions. Is there any webpage that list times and dates of matches.

f class

They were shooting it at Alliance Rifle club but i understand there may be a problem there and the club may not be in operation at this time. Check it out.

I was a member of the Alliance Rifle Club until I moved a couple of years ago but I do stay in touch. I have not heard of any problems except that one of the leagues got folded into another league. During the shooting season, they shoot 600yd matches every other Sunday.

Arc

I had read somewhere on the net that ARC had a safety issue and the lease on the land had been voided. THIS MAY NOT BE TRUE and I have no way of verifying it's veracity. Sure hope not as I had intention of trying to shoot there this spring. I do know a member from there and if time permits I will contact him and find out the whole skinny. Regards...g

Isn't Thunder Valley up near Coshocton (pardon my spelling). They shoot 1,000 yard matches.

Thunder Valley

Yes it is in Ohio east of Coshocton. The webb site is:www.ohio1000yd.com

600 and 1000yd matches and a fun event called .308 Challenge.

I haven't heard of any problems at the Alliance rifle club. In fact, Mike fortune has sent me pictures of them breaking ground for a 1000 yard berm (the range was previously limited to 600). Alliance is in mid eastern Ohio.

Another option is Miami Valley Rifle and Pistol down near Cincinnati. They have 600 yards there. I don't think they have dedicated F-class, but you could probably get away with it in their 3x600 prone matches. They have a varmint league that shoots thru the winter and spring.

Depending on where in Ohio you live, you might want to check out Camp Atturberry just south of Indianapollis, IN. As a resident of Dayton Ohio, I've found that Camp Atturberry is the closest 1000 yard range to me, at just over 2 1/2 hours drive. They shoot across the course on saturday, and long range (1x600 & 2x1000) F-class and prone are welcome.

Where in Ohio do you live?

Miami Rifle and Pistol

I shot down there last Sunday. They have nice 600yd 10 firing point range with pits. Webb site is; www.miamirfle-pistol.org

They are hosting Ohio's mid-range championship in August.

Over the last couple of years, we've had requests to have a few F-Class targets at the Bob Wright Memorial 1000-yard Ohio State Championship at Camp Perry, run by the Ohio Rifle and Pistol Association. This is June 14-15 this year. We've allowed F-Class shooters to shoot previously with no awards, but I understand that we are unable to send those scores into the NRA as official unless they shoot on the F-Class target.

We're trying to gage how much real interest there is in this. In the past, we've had folks say they want something, and when we provide it, hardly anyone shows up. I certainly want to accommodate any reasonable requests that will get more shooters on the line.

Anyone reading this who would take advantage if the F-Class targets were available? Any other comments? Thanks.

F-Class at Bob Wright, Camp Perry

Hello,
I'm trying to get the word out to as many shooters as possible. We will have F-Class targets and report F-Class scores at our annual 1000-yard Ohio Championship this year. The individual match is on 6/14/08, and the two-person team match is on 6/15. However, if someone would like to shoot again on 6/15 and doesn't have a partner, we'll either try to match you up or you can shoot as an individual (with no awards, just for practice). These individual shooters would have to shoot within the constraints of the team match (block time), though. Please sign up in advance, if at all possible. In order to make sure that we support F-Class in the future, please pass this along to anyone who might be interested to maximize participation. You can contact me at orpa@embarqmail.com with any questions.
Thanks,
David Johnson,
President, Ohio Rifle and Pistol Assocication
