Are there any F class ranges and competitions in Georgia? Preferably near Atlanta?

Thanks!

They shoot some "F" Class at Ft. Benning along with the regular L/R matches. They also shoot some in Oak Ridge, Tn. There is a modified "F" class match in Opelika, Al. Its shot at 600, 800, 900, 1000 yards. 5 shots at each distance. Targets are steel with a 1-MOA 10 point ring and 2-MOA 5 point ring. Its shot from the bench but you must shoot using a bipod or sand bag. No B/R equipment allowed. No sighters and no wind flags. It teaches you to read the wind and mirage. They have a practice day on Fridays before the match which is on Saturdays. These are summer matches only and the last one is on 08/22/09. Three different classes:223, 308 and anything goes up to a 300 Win Mag. Very interesting match.

F class range

Do you have directions to the range in Opelika? Or someone to contact about the matches held there?
Thanks,

Ed, is there an address for the Opelika shoot that I can Google?

Thanks.

No, its so far in the woods, there is no address. Call me!

For anyone wishing to attend the last match at HardRock in Opelika, Al., go to www.Snipershide.net. Go to the Tactical Comp forum and look for the HardRock thread. DocB will send you the info if needed. This is not a Tac match. It a modified "F" class match as described above.

When you get 7 miles into the woods, you don't need an address.

2010 schedule

Ed,
I could not make the Aug. shoot. Do you have a schedule for matches in 2010? I would be interested in trying to make some next year.
Thanks,
JDM

The match schedule for 2010 has not yet been posted. As soon as it is, I'll let you know!
