Extractor ??

...On a switch barrel rifle, Bat action, we chambered two barrels, one is 6.5X284 and the other is a 6.5X55. The go/nogo gauges work respectively fine. The 6.5X55 extracts fine, the 6.5X284 extracts the nogo but will not pick up the go gauge? What should I be looking for to solve this problem? Thanks......

New Gauges??

Maybe rim thickness on the 6.5x284 go gauge.

Coned bolt or not, breach to bolt nose clearance, cone angle ??

Do you have a way to compare / measure the rim thickness between the two gauges ??

Will it extract cartridge cases??
Who cares if it can't extract those heavy solid steel gauges?
