Extended Remington Extractor?

Is there a place to purchase a Remington extractor to pull ppc cases from a .308 bolt face? This is actually a old XP100 action.

XP 100 actions were originally 221. Fireballs.

The Fire Ball is a .383 case head. Was this XP 100 in a 7mmBR or has it been opened up alreadyby someone.
 
If you do the conversion just make sure of your loads... the conversion definitely lessens the safety factor of the original design. There are better conversions to do.

I recently received an email about the Sako extractor conversion in Remington actions...

I was sent this pic and and the text said all of his bolts with Sako extractors are getting replaced. He got sprayed with both powder and brass and was glad he had shooting glasses on at the time. He is glad that he was right handed, his girlfriend isn't.

Overloaded .223AI.. 700 Bolt had a Sako extractor.... It's gone. Luckily in no ones head.

I would rather not use a sako conversion. This is originally a .308 size boltface, it was not opened up. I remember hearing about remington extractors that were a little larger and had to be fitted to pull a case right. That's what I am looking for.

I believe in the past a .308 extractor could be bent in a little and be made to work.. tricky though and you might break one trying it..

I have bent 700 extractors in fitting them... they will bend some..

Dennis, I guess I had that coming. With that in mind, there are a lot of guys who do the conversion. The guy who did that one, as it appears done by looking at the picture, did not do it correctly. I strongly emphasize the word "correctly". 'nuf said.
 
WAITaminnit guys....... is there really something called an "extended Remington extractor"???? I just can't see it........

In what way was this one "improperly done"? What exactly did you deduce from this photo that tells you that THIS Sako conversion was incorrect?
