EV2 accuracy

I'm not happy with my stock ev2 barrel at 50Yards. It will average about 3/4"-1" typically. I can't complain about 25 meters since the gun holds the WRABF world record score, but I just thought it could do better at 50.
Well I finished machining a Lother Walther polygon barrel to fit it. I made a few changes to the loading port. The barrel wears a thimble now so that I can index it. I also made a hollow style probe with o-rings on the probe instead of the barrel.

First groups out of the barrel with JSB pellets were quite poor, 1.5"-2" at fifty five yards. I decided to try some Crosman premier lights. Wow, first ten shot group at 55 was only 5/8". I proceeded to take the gun apart and do a little more tweaking. The photo below is of my last three consecutive groups at 50 yards.

I only did five shot groups because it was getting late and I wanted to get it sighted in. If it keeps shooting like this I may use this barrel at the Nats.

edit: the first group should read 27/32"

Dan,
Looking good a few more tweeks and it might shoot as good as Daniel's M Rod!

Not sure if you can make Holbrook this Sat. Will also be shooting 75 yards at 10 meter air pistol targets. Same as AOA Extreme Benchrest. Brad and Mark are coming. David and Doug can not make it.

Sorry Paul, I'll be focused on field target this weekend. The 75y challenge sounds fun, especially with Holbrook wind.

Dan,

Those groups would be outstanding for a rimfire at that distance, so needless to say: I'm impressed!!!!

Keep it up, and good luck to both you and Daniel, the current FT National Champion, out at the Nationals.

Dan that looks awesome! I can't wait to see how it shoots when you are done with it as it is impressive now!

Good luck to you and Daniel at the Nationals!

Thanks Brad. I won't be using the barrel at the Nats, I may try it with a heavy pellets for 12fpe benchrest though.
Found out yesterday that Daniel can't go to the Nationals this year, he has a schedule conflict at college.
