Ennis ARA Matches Cancelled

The ARA matches scheduled for 10/16 and 10/18 have been cancelled because the range is underwater.

shooting under water

Would shooting underwater be considered indoor or outdoor shooting?
 
So James what do you think it will look like for the club tournaments the weekend of the 24th, things dry out and drain pretty quick there? Of course I do realize that it's pretty dependent on if there's more weather. Where does the water come from is there a river or creek close by? Sure been a tough year down this way with a lot of matches cancelled and or having to slop through the mud :)
 
The water is level with the bench tops right now. If it stops raining we should be able to have the match next weekend. I will let you know about next weeks tournament in a couple of days.
 
No high water at Dietzville.

Roads are open as well. Come on down and practice for next weeks tournaments. Sign up at 8 AM Saturday morning the 17th.

That's pretty high. Highest I ever seen there, was just to the level of the slab. Of course, it was a lake in front of the benches and you need a barge to get to the firing line with your equipment.
 
Well if the 10 day weather forecast holds it's not looking to bad for the week. Chance of scattered thunderstorms and a few showers mid week but other wise sunny and clear. Heck if push comes to shove I can bring my chest waders :eek:
 
Well the ARA site schedule is showing the weekend of 10/23 also cancelled, is that true? Kind of a bummer since I arranged to be in Dallas Wednesday and Thursday of that week for work and was going to slide over to the matches that weekend.

Danny knows how long it takes to let the water receed. The other problem, might be the aligators that get flushed out with these heavy rains.

If the match gets rescheduled where is a good motel to stay at? I'll want to come down on Friday night so I don't have to drive 200 miles and then shoot.

Schedule

OK not to beat a dead horse to death, but since I'm aligning work commitments next week in Dallas around the Matches in Ennis, saves on travel cost, currently the ARA site schedule is showing 10/23 and 10/24 cancelled but not 10/25. Anyone who's talked to Danny know if this is correct. The only reason I'm questioning it is the Saturday one cancelled but not the Sunday one. I just need to comfirm my business plans by this afternoon if possible.

OK I just talked to Danny and next weekend at this point is not cancelled. If no more weather contributes to the flooding situation then hopefully everything will be set to go.
