At the benchrest world championships in Austria, Jim Kelbly was range officer. Jim and I were standing together when Vera walked by with her rifle.

Jim said to me, ‘it doesn’t take much to keep her happy’. My simple reply was ‘bullets and barrels’, and Jim said ‘that sure beats diamonds and Cadillacs’.

And that’s all I have to say about that ...
