Encore Scope Mounts

Does anyone else have the problem of not being able to move your scope far enough forward with encore scope mounts to get enough eye relief. I have a pro hunter with thumhole stock and i put the leupold base and rings on it. The scope was to far back and i had to moved my head back to get enough eye relief. I also did not like the fact that the front of the base was not touching the barrel. So to fix this i had my gunsmith make me a set of two piece bases. The rear base mounts in the two forward factory holes and the front base he put just past the taper in the barrel and drill and tapped holes to mout it. Just curious if anyone else had this problem.
 
Weaver style mount

Check Bullberry or Brownells, they have Weaver type mounts in blued and SS Steel, not aluminum.

I've used these, and modified them by opening up the slots to the dimensions found on Picatinny rails.

The other option is to purchase a blank Picatinny rail stock (Brownells), and get it machined to fit your Ecnore.

I purchased a one piece base from matchgrademachine.com and put Warne rings on it.
Really nice set up. It looks like it was actually made for the gun.

Makes a mounting system called their TSO'B which looks like a heavy base with triple Warne rings. the beauty of using the one piece weaver style mounting systems is the ability to move the rings forward by machining another locking notch in the base a little forward.
 
I am new to this but gather a TC Contender would be considered legal since the Encore is. We are just talking about starting this at our club and looking at the rules online it seems about anything goes within the restrictions of weight and caliber.
