Eley Practice 100

I recently purchased four (4) unopened cases of Eley Practice 100. The cases were labeled 1109-05067 1060. I tested this ammo and it was killer good in my rifle.

I just opened the first case and am shocked!!!!! The first sleeve I pulled out has three (3) lots within the same unopened sleeve from two (2) different machines with three (3) different speeds. I then checked the remainder of the case and found two (2) other sleeves the same way and the remainder to have sleeves with 1008-05310 1045 ammo in them - not what was labeled on the case!

I am somewhat afraid to open the remaining 3 cases as I fear what I will find. I have emailed the supplier and am awaiting their response.

What the hell is up?

Hey,
It's "practice" Ammo, what did you think they did with odds and ends, they sure don't throw it away.

First, I was told this was small lot ammo and had the "EPS" style bullets, but not mixed within the same sleeve.

Second, I have now found the ammo within the same box to have noses differening from round nose to the overstamped "EPS" style noses.

I am shocked that Eley would put out something like this, but I guess I am just a babe-in-the-woods. Or so says one responder to my post.

I am sure the supplier and I will get this straightened out.

You Sold Me

I'll take it off your hands and dispose of it. There will be a slight disposale fee. My Disposal Method needs lots of Practice.

Good Deals

Sometimes a good deal ain't such a good deal.

Learning to read lot numbers, takes lots of practice.

Why would that be if they don't match, they don't match. That dont take no practice. Little education maybe, but dont take no practice.

George,
I'm sure you will get it straightened out with your supplier, and he in turn should get it straightened out or sent back to his supplier, not sell it to others that want something better than "mixed" ammo.

Will you let us know who your supplier was so that others wont get stuck with this "special" lot of "practice" ammo. Or are we on our own.

PRACTICE AMMO ?

WTF...all it would be good for is

1. practice loading and unloading
2. listening to it POP
3. pickin up brass
4. foulin barrel

what a rip off:eek:

Can't please everybody.

This is Eleys way of getting rid of loose lots and recover the manufacturing cost. Shoot it, you got a bargin.

gambler,
From some of the guts I've seen on some of the sit down shooters it looks like they could use the # 3 pickin up brass exercise. :D Only Kidding, come on George, who was the "supplier" that gave you such a good deal on that "stuff".

At any rate, 4 cases of that "special" lot of "practice" ammo had to cost some big $$$$. I think I would be camped out at his front door waiting for some kind of explanation.

Hobby

Us fat folks has to have a hobby too. Besides ain't sittin an excercise.

Almost as round as I am tall

sittin is only half an excercize..ta other half is gittin back up:

eley needs to call it culls, or mixed inventory,...practice ammo is scoring ammo..expensive stuff.

bettcha Tiger woods don't practice with range balls !!

I'd buy it all , but you'de probably inflate the price.

It can't be all bad, and for the Practice price, it's a bargain. Come on, cover the shipping and I'll send you a check. I know you will never be happy with it, and I can pass out $5.00 a box every day at the ranges around here, and everyone would hug my neck, just because it has Eley's name one it. I've open brand new boxes of Eley and have found two different bullet styles for years. I have a favorite saying, the Eley pays someone minimum wage to put 5 bad bullets in every box. Shoot it or sell it.

Great customer service

I have a full refund on the ammo coming and will be returing the ammo soon.

This is the first time I have ever seen mixed losts within the same sleeve and noses that look like they were from a lot used to set up the dies.

For those that shot at the Southern Nationals this year - the ammo will be returned and avaialbe at the end of July.
