Just got an e-mail from Dan Kilough about ammo . I am sure many of you have -or will get the same e-mail. No ammo except Remingtom -Eley match available at present time.Price is 12.50 a box. Eley shipment will be in sometime in June. Now the twister- Eley match increase to 50 cents a box. For me enough is enough. Ammo has gotten to high and I am priced out. Not that anybody cares if I continue benchrest or not. Done with all this crap.!!.

Garrison,

Come on over to a Silhouette match. I made the switch and have yet to look back. I still shoot br from time to time, but i find silhouette much more enjoyable.

Don't give up just yet. If the Euro goes down and dollar goes up, the Eley will go down. Got it?

In the mean time, why practice with the good stuff if you know that it shoots good in your rifle?

Thanks Bill : you know what it is. This sport is loseing shooters everyday and new shooters are turned off by the high cost. I said that many of us with out deep pockets would be priced out and looks like it is just about to happen. I love benchrest shooting and look foward to matches at my club every month. I support benchrest as much as I can and hope something will change for the better but until it does I will try to do as you suggest. Thanks for your reply . Comeing from one of the best in the sport is reasueing. garrisone.

steve b. Thanks for the reply. I think vagas is a little far for me to come to shoot. Thanks for the invatation but I guess I will stay in North Carolina. garrisone.

So a 3 target match costs app $1.50 more and that's the straw that broke the camel's back ???

Please don't consider me among that class. I shoot with my friends for fun. On this site, we are truly in the company of giants.

I hear you. When I started in the mid 90's I bought Midas. By early 2000 I was buying Master. Starting last year the 3rd string Center-X. But I'm finding it shoots as well or better as Midas did years ago at the same price I was paying for Midas then. But I don't shoot on a national level. Little traveling any more.

I don't know about your matches but I know about mine. Match -cost $15.00 . Ammo cost $48.00 for 4 boxs @12.00 a box at present. Price going up .50 cents more soon. cost of gas down and back. Price of equipment-rest etc cost of rifle . Oh well cuzz this is some of the reasons present shooters are leaving and why new shooters are not wanting to get into this sport. garrisone.

Concho Bill,

Sounds good but over the last 18 months the British pound has dropped something like 45% against the US$ and how much has the price of your Eley dropped?????

Problem is all the raw material is priced in US$ and the price of materials continues to climb.

I hear ya garrisone. I am sure it keeps a lot of people out of benchrest. I shoot usbr and 3 guns but that is only 3 boxes. I shoot Lapua because I can not afford to chase that elusive lot and speed in eley ammo.

If Eley would package Tenex in a cheaper box they would be able to keep the cost down a little. I think the box they put the Tenex in is a joke. I bought one box to see if it will out shoot all the other ammo i have tried. Now that I see the box I will not buy another no matter how well it shoots.

You never had to deal with the old Eley boxes. I realize that the new Tenex box may seem like overkill but the old boxes from a few years ago would simply fall apart and spill all that precious ammo.
