Eley Benchrest Gold

Hello Gang,

I have an Eley question.

I just came across a couple bricks of Eley Benchrest Gold. Was it a shooter or was it not worth a darn? Would it be worth grabbing what is left?

It was top of the line ammo when it was made. It was Eley Tennex but private brand labeled for Art Cook when he was the Eley importer -Tomart, Inc. Art owned the Benchrest Gold name and when he lost the business Eley could not continue it. Art later was the agent for Lapua RF ammo when Keltron-Pettibon started importing all Lapua products.
In the mid 90's it was the best available until Lapua dominated later.
I'd suggest you try it as it may shoot in your rifles.
