Re: a Ruger 77, has anyone here encountered a problem removing an ejector pin, I have one that I cannot punch the pin out off, I can press the ejector in and out with normal pressure but I haven,t been able to budge the ejector pin at all. I have taken some out before and never had this problem.I tried punching the pin from both ends and it will not budge. Any ideas out there?.
TIA

just had that pleasure yesterday...

ended up putting bolt in mill (lugs horizontal, pin vertical) and drilled pin out. I used carbide drill (omega) and drilled about half of pins length to relieve pressure, then drove it out. They seem to become swaged in to the point that the more you drive the pin the tighter it becomes. I used carbide as it's difficult to keep that small of a drill bit from wandering across the pin's surfaces. Just need a fairly ridged setup and be careful not to drill into the bolt body. I used a bit that was smaller diameter than the pin. All you want to do is relieve the pressure...Herb Coates
