Ejector Flow

Is it possible to get a small amount of brass flow into the ejector, below maximum pressures? My velocities are far below the published maximum but it appears that I'm still getting some flow into the ejector. There are no other over pressure indications.

Cartridge: 308 Winchester
Case: Nosler custom (new)
Powder: H4895 (41.5gr)
Primer: Federal Gold Medal (GM210M)
Bullet: Nosler 165 Ballistic tip
COAL: 2.80"
Chronographed velocity: 2520 fps
Platform: AR10 20"

Thanks,

the clue here is "an ar-10".....i own two.....an impression at 54kpsi is not unheard of.

its not as lite a load as it sounds...the ejector hole is not small .

i get 2514 in quickload so all sounds good.

is this just a visible mark or a raised mark ?

and what is this doing in a bechrest forum ?

i thought i was the only one shooting an ar-10 in br ??(308win br)

Mike,

Most of the marks are visible but a few are slightly raised.

I went back and checked the cases at 40gr and 41gr, no marks at all on the 40's
but the 41's had slight marks.

I have a condition called blacksteelalumaplastisitis it causes me to try to shoot
tiny groups with AR15's and AR10's.......I dunno why.....

Your advise is very much appreciated!

KG
