Effect of Meplat trimming on BC

What kind of change in BC could I expect on a Berger 175 VLD when trimming the Meplats? The original diameter averages .065, adnd after trimming they are averaging .080. They are good and consistent already, and are the best shooting bullet I have found for this rifle, but they won't fit in the mag box at the seating depth I have found works best unless I trim them by about .030. Otherwise I wouldn't bother.

My understanding of Meplat trimming is as follows: Trimming the least amount possible is the objective because the fatter the tip the more BC you lose however, what BC you loose in trimming Meplats you make up in making the BC's more consistent by uniforming all your Meplats which should translate into more consistent flight of the bullets. Look to 6br you'll find a good article on it.
One other note, unless you plan on using these bullets past 600 yards you probably won't realize any benefit if there is a benefit to realize. In theory it sounds like it works but in practice who really knows especially when considering all the other variables.

I'm not realy trying to gain anymore consistency from the bullets themselves, as I have never gotten a group with them above about .3 MOA, deffinately can't say that about the other bullets I've tried. However these won't feed from the magazine like I need them to. The will however fit the magizine if I trim the Meplat back by about .030 which increases it's diameter from .065 to .080.

Thanks for the info about the other article I'll check it out.
