I want to welcome Ken Roberts to our Bench Rest Match. I hope he enjoyed himself and will shoot with us again.
After the match he sighted in his .458 and shared it with several shooters. He had trouble seeing the target and pellet holes with his scope. On the world target he shot my gun and took third place beating me with my own gun!

Paul,
Thanks again for running another great shoot! These Indoor matches are fantastic as they give us a chance to see where we and our guns are at, and some idea of what to do to improve. Before our last Indoor match I had decided to return my gun back to being a .177 caliber as I had been shooting it in .22 throughout the Ourdoor season and wanted to gain the speed/energy level advantage of using the smaller caliber just in case I ever do decide to compete in any of the International matches.
As noted by my scores, my day had started out a bit disappointing as I dropped all of my points for the AGBR part of the day within the first 13 shots on target. In my frustrations I thought I could see something sitting right at 11 o'clock on my breech-face, meaning whatever it was could have been interferring with the probe seating into the chamber face to create a proper seal, and thus allowing air to leak by during each shot. I tried, but couldn't get to it with my fingers as they are just too big to fit into the loading area far enough to wipe the breech-face clean and, as luck would have it, I had left my felt cleaning pellets in my tool box and didn't feel (at the time) it was worth disrupting everything to get up and get them. After all, just how much difference could using one possibly have made? WRONG PRESUMPTION!
On my 13th shot I threw one out dropping a full 3 points which needed plugging to see if it were 4, then everything turned around in a hurry. Whatever it had been that I was seeing was now gone, and everything was as it should have been right from the get-go. Lesson learned (I hope) and next time I'll not only have the felt pellets with me, but will use them if anything even appears to be off.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Doug,
Great shooting, as usual. You are one of the most consistent shooter I have ever seen in either rimfire or airguns, and I have shot against the best. Of course, it doesn't hurt any that you are one of the most knowledgeable airgunners out there as well, bar none!

Ken,
Great shooting! Oh, and after placing 3rd with Paul's Theoben, have you started tuning yours yet?

Hope to see you all next month.

Newbie learns a lot and has fun.

Hello,
Was a great time and glad my trigeminal nueralgia let me show up.
Thank you to all who helped me with stupid questions, using your gear, siteing in the scope, etc.. and I am sure I slowed things down a lot as I learned the process.
Certainly seeing so many with issues on the FX products made me feel a little better on all the issues I have with the FX Gladiator.
Dan, not sure on tuning the glad, maybe REPLACING. Gots to look into one of thems Red Guns. < grin >
My long scope Elite 6500 654305MD was expensive but not adaquate for the task, I could not see properly like could looking thru Pauls setup. Thank you Paul for letting me shoot your rirlfe.
Lets see what some practice will turn out for the next shoot.
I look forward to learning more from you all.
Shootin the 909d was a hoot and the coyotes are scared.
So Much Fun!
Ken
