Doug Shea did so well shooting off a scissor car jack indoors He made one for outdoors. He might have a sponsor in MasterCraft using their ratchet. He out shot Big Buck Rests!

Dave Thanks for scoring the match.

Craig once you got rid of the windage front rest and went to the car jack on your second Card you were just 2 X off Doug's score.

Doug what can I say Great shooting off your car jack and with no wind flags!
Thanks for all your help and letting us pick your brain.

Norm,
I feel bad about not running a practice target. I thought you were all sighted in from the indoor shoot. I had a target stand at 25 yards you can use when the rimfire is shooting at 50 yards. Any time you want to shoot indoor 24 HR or outdoor 9:00 AM to dusk give, me a call or email. That wasn't a big target maybe 3 feet X 5 feet. It's too bad you were only two rows off.

Hope to see you at Pinnacle Mountain on the 31 or Holbrook indoors on June 7.

Do you have any idea of just how humbling an experience it is to have over 13 years invested in rimfire benchrest shooting, and to have gone out and spent pockets full of money on a new, highly customized, top-end puff-gun, then to set that gun into a rest system, also having been fully customized, that cost over $1000.00, plus, to have bothered to set out a line of windflags between you and your target, only to turn around and have your hat handed to you by some well-seasoned air gunner who is using nothing but what he knows and one of those old car scissor jacks ....with a ratchet wrench for controlling the elevation ....and no windflags in less than perfect conditions?  :(

But, that's not the worse part! There were two of these someones who were using scissor jacks and no flags, and they both gave us a lesson on what we needed to learn!

All I can say is: Great shooting Doug and Craig! You both have way more experience with the air guns than we do, even if it isn't in benchrest, and you are both obviously well seasoned air gun shooters. I can see only good things for you both in the future and can only hope that I may be worthy of catching up as we go along. But, something tells me that once you get the appropriate scopes and equipment under you, you're going to be a tough pair to catch!

By the way; what make and model of scissor jacks were those? And Doug, if you don't mind my asking, who made your ratchet wrench? Looks like I may be the one who needs to start visiting the Flea Markets for an up-grade!

Dave I Know What It Is!

Dave,
Looking at the picture it's not the car jack.
It is not the MasterCraft Stubby Ratchet.
It must be the little round rear bag!!!!
Now is it a pitcher's resin bag that was used to win the World Series?
If it's the toe of a sock filled with sand. I think I will give up.
It must be a laser guidance system for the pellets to follow to the target.
Does Doug work for Raytheon? If so I want one.
Paul

Congratulations Doug, and great shooting by everyone. Just think what Doug and Craig will do with flags. The scissor jack is a thing of beauty, and very creative.

Thank You for the pictures Paul and the report, again congrats to all of you. Haven't shot in awhile and forgot there was an airgun site. Oh my, sure hope I'm not losing it.

Take Care,
Joe

Did yea here that Paul? He's bringing that damn Scissors Jack up to Pinnacle!

As if we weren't being humbled enough by the winds up there on the mountain, now we can look forward to being totally humiliated by "the Mad Jacker"!

Man, after I finish typing this I guess it'll be off to the junk yard to see about keeping up with the Jones', or in this case: Shea's.

Todd, you're gonna be in for a real treat seeing how it's done.

Dave

Craig,

That's too bad! I do hope you will be able to make the trip up sometime as I think you'll like the range.

And what, the scissor jack and rolling trash barrel seat weren't good enough for you.  ;)
