I just ordered a Sightron 8-32x56 for my new long range (for me) rifle. Targets will be standard paper competition targets from 300-600 yards. I ordered a 1/8 minute dot. Should I have ordered 1/4"? I'm 59 and wear classes. will 1/8" be too hard to see/find? I may have time to change it

Rich, IMO, you will like the 1/8 dot better. I ran a 1/8 MOA dot for a long time and I probably would have preferred even a 3/32 dot. 1/4 would take up too much real estate on the target. My eyes are only 40 years old, but I have no issues with a 1/8 dot.

Dots

I shoot LR "F" class.... with the "X" ring being 5" diameter.... I don`t want to cover 20% of it up with an 1-1/4" dot ( @ 1000 yds.)....I use the NF-NPR-2 reticle...

Thank You Gents, I thought so

Ordered the 1/8 moa dot by MISTAKE, I thought the 1/4" would be better for my 59 year old imperfect eyes. I've been shooting for 30 years but havent had a fine dot for 20 or so years, didnt remember how it was and eye sight changed. Going to stay with 1/8" dot as per vast internet opinion on dot reticle size. (of those that recommend a dot at all) I should have the scope next week. I'll let you know how it goes
