Differences between model 10's and other savages?

One thing I noticed different was, when installing my Rifle Basix SAV-2 trigger in my Savage 10fp. In the instructional Video, the rear tang containing the safety they removed, when installing the new trigger which, mine does not come off? is that one of the pre-accutrigger models that's made like that? Thanks! :)

The Rifle Basix SAV-2 trigger..

The Rifle Basix SAV-2 trigger will fit all the centerfire Savage actions including target actions. I have used many of the Rifle Basix Sav-2 triggers. You will loose the ability to reliably use the Savage safety when the Rifle Basix Sav-2 is set below about 8 oz. It will appear to work but if you push the safety off and on a number of times the gun will fire without touching the trigger. Most BR shooters don't use a safety any way so this is of no concern to them. With the lighter settings I would also be very careful not to slam the bolt closed.

The Savage safety in both the older and newer models will come off and on. The newer Safetys slide in a dove tail groove.

In this dvd, they had the whole tang piece off in their hand which, had the safety installed in it with the slide button and the red dot behind the safety button? my tang is made to the action and you have to remove any safety components from the whole barreled action should you have reason to. I don't use this gun to hunt so, I don't use the safety. surely, someone has seen that instructional dvd where they mount trigger parts to the tang and, safety assembly then reinstall that, to the barreled action. just puzzles me trying to figure out what model Savage they are installing the trigger on. Thanks! :)

What you're seeing in the video is a section of a Savage action that they've cut down just for demonstration purposes in the video. It made the photography of the installation easier. None of them come apart like what they show in the video.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I couldn't seem to get that out of my mind. :D
