Die Making

My first foray into die making. Is there a preferred medium used to polish the insides that leaves them glassy smooth? I'm close... but could use a little mentoring.. Thanks in Advance.

I polish with a wooden dowel & progressively finer grit silicon carbide wet/dry paper down to 3/0 grit. Put a lengthwise split in the dowel about 1/2-3/4" long on a band saw or a hack saw & wrap the strip of paper so that it gets tighter around the dowel as you apply pressure in the hole. I usually start with 400 or 600 depending on the finish left by the reamer. Remember not to dwell in one spot too long & run high rpm's.
