put it away in dresser drawer about a dozen years ago . . .uncocked and clean. Was like new. Recently pulled it out and tried to cock it. Won't cock.
Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

Is it truly not cocking as that is a opposed piston unit. Cocking meaning that you are compressing the spring and the the pistons are held at ready to be released to supply the air to fire the pellet. If the pistons are not locked back then it is a mechanical problem such as the sear is gummed up and not rising to catch the pistons, no air but piston fly = seals gone.

Had not used this in at least a dozen years and forget that you must rotate the top half of the barrel 180 degrees to cock. So it does cock . . . but the seals are gone. Just bought new seals for it. May try to replace the seals myself. There is a very good article on revamping a m6 on the internet.

I've done a few of those and put an article on the web here

The sequence of taking apart is key and my method differs from the official method I believe, but it's an hour's job. Don't even need a cramp.
Do remember to ease in the lip of the seal past the various openings with a blunt electricians screw-driver and lift the sear lever, and put the pistons in the right way up!
