Derlin rod too wide for my anschutz 54 on pappas rest ... can it be cut?

I bought what I believe to be an pappas one piece rest. There are two white pieces of delrin on each side of the top and they are separated by a delrin rod. The rod is about an inch too wide for my stock anschutz 54 stock. Im not sure if I should an inch or so out of the rod or if I need to order/build larger side pieces. If the rod was cut it would allow the sides to come in some but it would not be super tight on the rifle stock.

Does pappas make a type 54 specific top or a sandbag top?

The Papas Rest was designed for a 3 inch stock.
If your sporter is a standard 2 ½ inch then cutting ¼ inch off of both ends should work. (If that makes sense?)
Mine works just fine with a 2 1/2 thru 3 /14 after cutting.

It sounds like you need a 3 inch aluminum plate to attach to your accessory rail or a sand bag top. I do not make a specific top for a standard Anschutz stock, I do make a sand bag top.

I think these plates are sold by Champion Choice and Champion Shooters. They attach to the underside in the slot where the forearm hand rest moves. A friend put one on his Kimber 82g and now has a solid rest

Do you mark your rests with your name? Mine appears to be unmarked.

The last couple of years the rest has had a decal on it. Before that they were not marked. If it has 1/4 blue rubber under the front pivot screw it is mine. If it is a very old model it will have delrin under the pivot screw. Put a picture on the forum and I can tell you for sure.

has red rubber it looks like
