Real nice day at the NTSA range Denton, Tx. Got up to 89 deg and low humidity.
Great shoot'n Jon Conley for his 100yd win in group.
Equally great shoot'n James Statham with a 250 - 22x score.

The computer was not at all healthy so number crunching was manual labor... Got the top three Score results.. Though I can't for the life of me remember who took second in the group and the aggs of the top two...?
I shot a .2408 agg fer third.
Maby Jon or James can chime in with the info.

Thanks goes out to James Statham for organizing these shoots. Thanks, they are a hoot!

Group Finish 100yds

1. Jon Conley .2158
2. Dave Williams .2378
3. Cale Roby .2408

Score Finish 100yds

1. James Statham 250 - 22x
2. Bill Whitener 250 - 20x
3. Dave Williams 250 - 17x

Our Score winner... Sorry James, a bad pic...

Typical condition I saw over my flags... Out to 40yd's a 7oclock "tail" wind and 50yds out a 3-6 oclock 8-15 push.... I failed to pick-up a pick-up on my first flag right from 3 oclock and I was again shoot'n a 249 in score...
But my 8X's with a 6ppc weren't gonna get me much up the stat page anyway.......

Nice looking range, I was always told it was a dust bowl..............not so.

Strangest looking benches that I have ever seen, I guess that is one way of separating shooters from rubbing butts or elbows.

Plenty of under benchtop area for those nasty blackwidows to hide at.............Don

I'd like to thank everyone for coming out and shooting that could. (Shelley our thoughts and prayers are with you). Yes, the Computer decided not to play well. I'm still trying to get things worked out in the program so that it comes up with the correct results.
Anyway, thanks for all of the help that I got running the match. You sure make my job a lot easier. Now if I could get the computer to work right.
Thanks also for the pictures. Helps others put faces with names.

Hopefully the attachments work correctly. Once again, thanks everyone. See you June 1st.

James Statham

More pictures thanks to Lew Cohn.

They're attachments as I'm not sure how to put them in the post directly.

James

Sorry we missed it. Curtis was out of town getting Scott's truck with a blown engine and Mark and I were putting the finishing touches on the office air conditioning. We hope to be out for the rest. I will bring my computer when I do.

Thanks James

Yep, works perfectly James. The .DOC file helps all users "see" the file, not everyone has Excel spread sheet program. No conflicts...

See ya June 1st for the 200yd event.

This season is looking pretty good for Bench rest at Denton. The attendance is up for each match and we’ve needed two relays a few times. We’re attracting new shooters and have people showing up to the matches just to ask questions and find out what all this is about. We’ve even found a local Bar BQ guy to feed us on match days.
Furthermore, we have many very dedicated shooters that have stepped up their game and the average Agg. is shrinking. Denton has always had a strong Bench rest community full of exceptional shooters and all around good guys. This can be seen on any Saturday. As you drive up you will see the sea of flags and several guys wishing the wind would settle down, just a little.

I’d like to thank all the people that make Denton the range it is. I’m proud to call you all my friends… Jon Conley

P.S. Shelly, I know we’ll be seeing you very soon.

While it has been...

A few years since I've been to the Denton range (2005) which I met some very nice people who explained alot to me an answered every question (dumb an otherwise ) that I had. I am lookin forward to tryin to make a match or 2 down there before the season ends. One thing which Mr. Roby has brought to my attention an I had forgotten was how short your flags must be to be legal, but with a little luck I can make some outta some copper tubing if need be.

Y'all have a good un' an be safe.

JD
