Denton will have a 200yd match this weekend on Sunday the 12th
$25.00 gets you a full day of shooting with score in the morning and a group shoot after lunch. The 4-H club will provide a lunch for $8.00. This is a bring what you got format, so come out and have some fun. We will draw for benches at 9:00 and shoot at 10:00.

It is truly a shoot what you bring, but take heed. There will be no quarter given and there will be serious shooting done. But DON'T let that keep you from coming. Especially if you are just thinking you might like to try this game. No one will laugh at your rifle or shooting and it is a great place and way to get to find out just what goes into a match. Super great bunch of guys. One of my favorite places to shoot. Heck someone would probably even loan you a rifle if you needed one. Besides, Dr. Tim might show up to administer to anyone needing it.

Thanks Steve,
Everyone involved in running the match does a great job in making this something fun that you’ll want to come back and do again..

How many targets fore score? how many targets for group? Is a decent hunting rifle ok? I would just like to enjoy the day...

Just like a normal NBRSA/IBS Group or Score registered match. 5 matches each, 5 Score matches in the morning ... Lunch.. Then 5 group matches in the afternoon.
25 rounds total on the records for both the Score and Group.
Pre loaded will require a minimum of 75 rounds (IMOP) but plan for 100+ loaded rounds, one needs plenty of sighters/foulers. I tend to load/shoot 110+ rounds for the day.

Travis, come on out and have a good time with the rest of us looney's.!;)

Travis,
You shoot at 5 bull’s-eyes on each score target with a total of 5 targets. So in a perfect world you would need 25 rounds for score, but you will need to take a few sighters shots along the way. You will also need 25 rounds for the group (one 5 shot group per target with 5 targets) but again you will need some sighters. If you come with 75 rounds you will be ok. Many of the shooters at Denton started off with a hunting rifle. Come out and give it a try.

Come on Travis. Heck you are already in Texas. ;) Us Okies have to drive all the way down there. We need a rookie to keep me from being in last place. However,.....I think the last rookie kind of whuped up on my butt a bit, right Steve. Maybe Genn just brought a sleeper.

Feel your paing Glenn, so far the work schedule has had me unavailable for the last 3-4 matches (and I really want to make it up for one to see what they are all about). Maybe next month...sigh

Saturday???

John C.,

Will you be at the range on Saturday? I am going to install a new barrel and would need to get a little range time to work up a load.

.....it looks like I'm gonna miss another one. Truck transmission went out a couple days ago.

Ford wanted $6,000.00 for a rebuilt replacement. I did some research and got a deal for about half that price. The repair shop called and said that it looks like Monday before I get my beloved F250 4X4 back. I was enroute to the previous match or the one before, when I backed over my own mail box and knocked out one of my taillights.

I believe that voodoo Doctor that shoots up there at Denton, done put a hex on me. I'm having way too much bad luck lately.

I promise to make it to Luther next year

Dadgum Glenn,
Can't you catch a ride with someone? I think you may be right about the Voodoo Doc. I have noticed that his mixin's have had a slight gasoline taste to them lately. ;) First match at Luther will be in March. Don't worry about trying to get some 13' flag stands together. There will be enough that it will look like east texas during the oil boom back in the 20's. Besides Mike Ratigan usually sets two lines of flags. Just tell Rex you want a bench next to Mike. Come to think of it....maybe that is why he shoots so darn good in that hellhole. All you Texas guys that think "the wind is my friend" come on up to Luther, Okla. I never knew that wind could blow up, down, left, right, toward you and behind you all at the same time. And it gets worse at 200 yds. Love it and can't wait for the first match.

Donald

Sorry to hear about your troubles Gleen I know we’ll see you in August.

Tim,
We will all be at the range on Saturday. I will get there around 9:30 or so.
If I can help with anything just give me a call..
