Dan Brown won the sub 20 fpe class shooting his FX-INDY. His first target was a 250 5X Then he switched pellets and tested several others.

Al Joly won the Unlimited match.

Daniel's Mrod had a new LW barrel and he tested several pellets.

Norm was having Walther problems going through 1500 for 30 pellets.

Doug was going great then broke a valve return spring on his S-Type Theoben.

Dan made a Thimble for my .177 LW fast twist. Shot a target indexed the barrel. He also made a longer probe and put O rings on the thimble. This will be my 12 fpe. gun!

Thanks for running the match Paul, and thanks for the tip;)
I think Al does remarkably well with his stock Royale.
Thanks Franky for the vintage pellets and box.
Norm, I found what may two more reasons for the inaccuracy you are experiencing.
Doug, good luck with that Rapid.
Daniel was happy with the performance of his new LW barrel.
If I was quite a bit smarter I'd know the meaning behind the low X count on my 250. It seems the pellets were not striking the target in a random manner, instead they were playing ring around the rosy.
Dan

Thanks everyone. Paul, did you use the new fast twist barrel on all three cards?
Dan

Joe,
We have a great group of shooters. Hope to have a couple of 12 fpe guns to get some scores posted.

Dan, yes I did shoot the fast twist all three targets. Will put a regulator in this week and do some tunning for March's shoot at Pinnacle Mountain.

Gees Dan, now Paul's gone and done it letting your secret out of the bag on what makes your barrels so hot!!! :(:( Blow torch them just before sitting down. ;););)
Great shooting and looking forward to seeing how much that torch helps up at Pinnacle. Of course, up there you simply have to open up the wood stove, stick the end of it in there for a couple of minutes, and that should do the trick.:eek:

Paul, Thanks for running another great match. I always look forward to them and only wish my barn were just a couple of feet longer so we could get in there every couple of weeks. But, I guess that's not going to happen without some major remodeling, and I doubt very much I could clear that with my wife.:mad::mad: Of course, that's not to say we couldn't build an airgun range next to the barn outdoors? All in favor, say yea!

See everybody at Pinnacle on the 26th.

Dave

Sounds good! I can bring 5 benches from Holbrook. Open the barn door. Have the targets out 10 feet. 72 foot shooting shack with 10 foot open range. Sounds legal???

Paul

PERFECT, but we won't need any benches. We can just drag out some of the rickety old tables that were left behind from when the Club closed down. Either that, or just set up along the bar!!!!!

I can get the power turned back on, but there still won't be any heat ...or bathrooms (that is other than for the one old outhouse that's been sitting out across the field for somewhere around 15 years now)? And unless we moved down the floor far enough to shoot kitty-corner through the barn door the backstops gonna be Route 111. Of course, we could set up using ±30' of barn, then ±50' of open-air. That should definitely be legal then!!!

Of course, if we do that we might still have to park a flatbed off the end of the barn to get the stands up high enough as there's quite a drop-off out there. But, we can work those minor details out as we go along, like if Paul were to bring benches and used his car trailer to get them here, it could serve dual purpose: as a transport vehicle, then as a target stand holder. I see no problem with that? We'll still have to wait a bit longer though as the grandkids new swing set, plus my 7.5' finish mower, are currently sitting right in the middle of that end of the barn floor, so they might have to be moved? Not sure though as we just might be able to shoot right over them.

Hmmmmmm, maybe next year?

Dave

Congrats to Al and Dan... the scores keep rising. Nice 250 Dan.

Best,
Michael
