I have a CZ 527 in 221 Fireball and I disassembled it to adjust the trigger. While putting it back together I noticed the magazine catch spring causes everything to tighten under stress. Is this normal? If I assemble the rifle without the magazine catch spring it assembles nicely with ease and no springy tension. When I leave the spring on it causes the bolt handle side of the action to spring up and bind the action screws. I then have to keep constant pressure on that side of the action to get the screws to tighten into the triggerguard.
Does anyone know of a conversion to do away with the magazine catch spring? It's a dandy little action which I want to keep a repeater, but I think I may make it a single shot. I do not see any marks on the inside of the stock which would show where something is rubbing. Also the receiver, triggerguard, catch spring will bind even if it is not in the stock, unless I put pressure on one side to make the triggerguard level. I wonder if the triggerguard does not have enough room when the magazine catch spring is put in place?
