Due to injuries I have out of the picture so to speak for several years.

Who is considered the top barrel makers in the small caliber realm ?

Before you start, I'm not interested in Shaw/Cabelas/etc,. I' m only interested in the top tier manufactures.
 
Hard to believe that you left out HART, Butch? The right coast is still attached, isn't it?
 
Of the benchrest makers of barrels of benchrest quality there are at least 5. Look on match reports for the most popular. Current most popular is somewhat trendy meaning that what a winner shoots in a biggy like the Super Shoot, twenty other shooters will shoot that brand on the next shoot even though that winning shooter probably would have won with any of the other four on that day.

IMO, we now have a bunch of good barrels, and a bunch of good gunsmiths chambering them. Also, IMO, I'd pick the gunsmith as being more important than the barrel as long as that barrel is of benchrest quality. Modern quality methods have caused there to be a very high percentage of good barrels. Bad gunsmithing can mess up a good barrel. A bad barrel will not mess up a good gunsmith.
 
Some are doing real good with Pacnor and Lawtons, also.
I think it is the luck of the draw on barrelmakers, they are all good. The gunsmith, break-in, and shooter are equally important, maybe more so, I think.
 
Thanks to all, I didn't know if there had been some miracle break through are not, it never hurts to ask but can sometimes be very painful if you don't, therefore the question.
