Congrats, Dennis, on your first place win today! Lousy weather...windy, cold, and snow showers, but you figured it out! Great Shooting!

That's great shooting by Dennis; and none of the top 5 aggs you list are at all 'shabby' .....especially if you had wind there like we had here.
I would be interested in seeing an 'equipment list' from this match, for all shooters including you and Ray (if you competed)....that is, if you have time to post it, and you don't think the shooters would mind.

W337 we had about 29 degrees and snow, the wind actually was not that bad for Crosswinds....I think Ray and Donna said they had CRAZY wind the day before that you probably could not keep targets up.

Most of the rifles were difficult to load and not shooting the best merely because of the temp.

I don't know the complete list but I can tell you about the top 5.

Sallin Swindlehurst, Broughton, Eley, Roger Brock
Peters Anschutz 54, Broughton, Eley, Roger Brock
Pepper ULA I think not sure about any other info
Brandt Turbo, Broughton, Eley, Roger Brock
Besche Anschutz 54, Broughton or Shilen, Eley, Roger Brock

I keep telling "hoping" Dennis just has a cold weather tune up on that rifle and once the weather gets above 70 degrees he isn't going to be able to shoot a 1600 agg with it! I have a feeling that may not be the case though.

All in all the day was not nearly as bad as I expected. Weather was forcasted to be bad enough quite a few shooters "called in sick". ;)

Ray and Donna had some lame excuse about having to run the match and cook or something so they could not shoot.:p

Thanks again for the great hospitality from the Browns.

Charlie .........Thanks for the additional info on your match there at Crosswinds. My 'cudos' go out to the shooters whom braved the weather to compete. I just hate those cold conditions for bench shooting. I shake too much after about 30 minutes. Altho I do still have a lot# of Tenex that shoots real well in the cold weather .......and doesn't shoot worth a darn in the warm weather. Well wishes to all my friends that shoot rimfire in Missouri......

Hey Dennis...

Have you ever heard.... "In every cloud, there's a silver lining"? I went down to the little house today and saw your coat hanging on the chair you were sitting on.I don't think you'll need that heavy coat 'cause it looks like the weather's taking a turn and it's gonna warm up!!! We'll bring it along when we come to the next match. Congrats again on your first place win!!!

W337...Not sure who you might be, but it looks like Charlie answered your questions.:)

Thanks again to all who attended! Donna

Donna, Thanks in advance for bringing my coat to the next match at Jefferson City @ United Sportsmans Club. Hope my new ammo shoots as well in the warm as well as it does in the cold and snow because I have alot of it. Only time will tell. See you Sunday. THANKS BIGROE

Charlie If I wasn't match director I'd just stay home. Hey can I go to Mexico with you all. I guess I'll go shoot and let Dennis treat us like a redheaded stepchild again.
Joe
P.S. anyone know where his stash is.

Joe,

Unfortunately with 3 cases of the stuff, if it stays good we may have to deal with him for quite a while.

Joe, if you had 3 cases of it I wouldn't be quite as concerned because I know you are a 3 to 1 kind of guy....for every box of ammo you shoot at a match you shoot 3 at home. So you might have it used up before the nationals :D

Unfortunately Dennis can get by with that for a good 3 years.

Give em hell this weekend Joe!

Charlie

Oh, Fred...I'm sure you don't have what he has....I think it is Eleys answer to this new high dollar Lapua. He is flat smokin with this stuff.

Charlie

High Dollar!!!!

Charlie:
You're right about that, I can't afford the high dollar stuff.
Guess I'll just have to be happy with Eley Club and Master.

OK Fred,
Your too good of a guy....I gotta come clean....thought I'd get the rumor mill running.....the stuff Dennis is shooting is just some of the last batch of Eley EPS Black Box. I really don't know the lot number, I believe it is fairly fast though. It worked well so he bought a truckload of it.

He has a new Broughton barrel that Brock put on and it is really working. He tested the ammo in the cold weather and the first 2 matchs of the season he has not just won but whooped us. It has been cold and he has the right stuff for these conditions. I keep teasing him saying once it gets warm out he isn't going to be able to agg a 1600...he knows its all in fun. It not just the ammo and the barrel he is a tough competetor.

One thing that is kind of funny is the tuner is where it just happened to come from Roger and he put one of the barrel nuts on it and just stuck it in the middle of the barrel.

Good shootin Fred.

Charlie
