Cooper 36

Hi everyone. A newbie to this forum needing a bit of help.
I find myself at a stage in life wanting so simplify things.
To that end, i have posted several no longer used rifles on benchrest.com in the classified advertisement section.
Have been well received, having sold all to new happy owners.
Several years ago i transitioned from rim-fire benchrest to metallic silhouette shooting (the dark side-black powder).
I'm still having a ball and plan to continue for the foreseeable future.
I have another rifle i want to sell.
This is a cooper model 36. Great wood, stainless barrel, great trigger. I bought it years ago ignorant of the weight limit on sporters in ir50/50 which is the discipline our club adopted.
It has languished in my safe for several years now gathering dust and i decided it needed to go to someone who would use it.
I haven't shot it in several years but remember easy 1/2" groups @ 50 with several different types of ammo. Never got to use it in competition.
Here comes the help thing mentioned earlier....i cannot find any reference to the value of this rifle.
I have searched for a while now and have seen no cooper 36 sold to help me determine a fair value.
This rifle is in very good condition, used with minor handling marks showing and a slightly mashed butt pad.
I would appreciate any and all opinions.
Got to start somewhere!
Many thanks in advance.
Don.

Hey, Don, have you ever heard that................

ya have to spend money to make money?? :D Well, you might look into the "Bluebook of Gun Values", its about $35, you can get it at Brownell's or from the publisher, and it ought to help out quite a bit. It certainly isn't infallable, I found a couple mistakes, and some guns not listed, and some of the SAKO timelines off a bit, but it'll give you an "about" retail  price and you can go from there. Good luck, and have fun. HTH ;)

Jewell

One is on Gunbroker now , it has a Jewell trigger and thi was an option , Jewell will not make a trigger for Cooper now so it is a sought after trigger for the Cooper crowd. The trigger on the current TRP makes it not desirable for BR shooters so if your 36 has a Jewell it is worth more!

Go to rinfirecentral.com, there is a Cooper forum there, check with the guys who frequent it and they should be able to give you a ballpark figure.
