coolant reservoir

Any suggestions on what type of cleaner should be used in the coolant tank to break down and flush old sludge.

I was told to use Joy dishwashing soap and hot water; I figure some of you guys have already done this, what do I use?

Depends upon the formula for the coolant which has been used. If it is an old machine and has been used with a lard based coolant, lye works well.

After washing out with a soap solution we washed out again with anti bacterial solution then a clean water rinse.

 

[Big Al]

Take it to the car wash, use their drain and leave with a clear conscious.

A few bucks worth of quarters makes for a less troubled life.
