on the beautiful 750 that you shot today at Wilkesburo.

Jim,
After you left we discussed passing a rule that match directors at Blue Ridge are prohibited from shooting in the matches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously Kent did one hell of a job today. He gives everyone the feeling that you're shooting for second place.

Jim,
Thanks a lot. I appreciate it! It seems like it's been along time coming. I shot several 749's and 748's, but always managed to drop a shot somewhere along the line to that 750. I finally got right for once. The rifles and ammo did it, I was just along for the ride. Man, I dreaded shooting that last shot:) I thought the bottom might drop out of it. But, then again I thought to myself the world wasn't going to change if I missed it, and touched the trigger on it. I'm glad it was an X:)

Kent: The world has not changed a great deal because you shot the 750 either, sorry to say. In your world, sure it has changed. Now you know you can do it so 748's in the future will be a bit harder to swallow. Congratulations and well done! bob

Great shooting Kent. Hope you are coming to K'foot next weekend
Don

Cliff,
Devin is wanting to come and shoot, and I plan on bringing him if I can swing it, getting him out of school at noon on Friday, etc.. I need to order him a spotting scope so he can see where his sporter shots are hitting. Thanks for all the help yesterday. Man, I was burned out from the heat! It was HOT and muggy all day. Hope everyone has cooled down and recovered by now.

Great shooting!

Congratulations Kent! Were you using one of your builds? Thanks for your past help also. joe

Joe,
Yeah, I was using homegrown stuff;) Same old Kimber sporter I've shot since 2005, and a new built 40X 10.5 class rifle with one of Don Stith's exhibition wood stocks. Man, I like that stock!

Congratulations

It wasn't the stock or the ammo, it was the shooter. Great job. Hope to see you at Kettlefoot.

Great shooting!! It looks like your doing a great job with your grandson....those are the memories you and him will always cherish! Hope to see you soon.

Phil,
Thanks. I really enjoy the time I spend with my grandson, and he really enjoys all the guys at the matches. My grandfathers were passed on by the time I was born, so I never got to meet them. Devin enjoys shooting, and he absorbs instructions very well, and he shoots well because of it. I'd rather watch him shoot and enjoy himself than to shoot myself.
He told me Saturday evening when we got home that he would like to have his OWN sporter rifle. I told him ok, I already had a killer barrel on hand, and when I decided on which action, I'd build him one of his own. In the mean time he can keep shooting my Hall sporter.
Hope you GA guys are coming up for the Mid Atlantic regionals and VA State at Kettlefoot!

I wish I could be there, but I have a lot of work to do this weekend so I can see my Vietnam buddies and granddaughter next weekend. I'll be looking for you to duplicate that 750 this weekend!! ;);)
