Cleaning a Jewell

How and how often do you 40X guys clean your Jewell???

The factory recommends cleaning every time you clean your barrel…

Cleaning: “flush after each barrel cleaning with lighter fluid. The use of lubricants is not recommended.”

I haven't cleaned my trigger yet but clean my barrel after every target????

Thanks...

I've never had reason to clean mine. I have two 40X BR guns and the triggers have been working fine for 4-5 years. I take the trigger assembly apart when I get 'em and polish the sideplates on the inside, just to make sure there are no burrs or nothing is dragging, and use a Lucas bore guide that doesn't let oil and grease get down into the trigger. My theory is, if it works, leave it alone. I have 5 Jewell triggers and never had a problem out of any of 'em, except for one broken spring on a Hunter Class trigger, and that just happens now and again with the Jewell triggers with safetys.
Not saying you should do as I do. I may have just been lucky.

Thanks Kent, :) Thats the impression I had but wasn't sure... I'm gettin some wierd flyers at aprox 1 oclock on the USBR target at 50 yrds and I'm goin through a list of possibilities...I don't have wind flags but use surveyors tape hanging down at about six places along the way...the gun has been pritty consistent with the same lot SKSP ammo with a ocasional flyer but lately has been pickin up the pace and extream????

Example: …10-10-10- then a just bearly a 7 ..10

Sounds like typical cheap ammo to me. You may have had a few good boxes, but now you hit the one that will give you the flyer.

Thanks...A thought I've had myself...Seems odd to me that the majority of flyers fly up into the 1 o'clock area??? I'm not compeating at formal matches so it's no major problem...
