Charlie Hood of Hoods Reloading

Doug Penttinen

"TESTED TEXAS TUFF"
Does anybody know if Hoods Reloading (Metro Machine Shop) has gone belly up ? That was Charlie Hood . He made this niffty bullet puller. He was in Commerce, Ga.

It seems as though he may now be out of business. He advertised here under reloading..

Charlie is hard to get a hold of at times. I bought one of the bullet pullers this last winter. It sure is a nifty device. Now, when you order it, you need to let him know if you just want the top piece and use your own bullet gripper or both pieces.

Hello everyone,
You good people need a direct answer. Cheryl and I have a dilemma of sorts. We want to retire, we want to say we're done with machine work, but we also know health problems have a way of changing the best laid plans. We have worked for ourselves our whole life and we only count on ourselves to provide for our needs, so we've been a little (a lot) unfair to our customers by not declaring the end of our business. To correct that, I'll put it like this, up until the time selling benchrest stuff becomes a matter of survival, we're out of making everything but bullet cores.
Scotty Crawford is presently making our press and we'll be talking with him about making our other products in the future.
We do have two bullet pullers in stock, Weaver style scope checkers and a million group checkers.
We have
been blessed to deal with such wonderful customers, we've sent thousands of products to people we didn't know and we never were cheated, that's pretty amazing testimony to the good folks of benchrest.
Cheryl and I thank you all,
Charlie

Hey Charlie,
You have been special to me, a press, scope checker, and group checker. Great products and great prices. Good luck to you and Cheryl. Scotty is a damn good guy and will do a good job for you.

Hello Charlie,
You will never know how much of an asset your scope checkers have been to my rifle shooting.

Good Luck and thanks again

There are two "best" in the Hood family. Charlie and Cheryl. They have always been great friends to me. Their products are un-equaled in quality . Thanks Charlie and Cheryl.

Thank you my friends for you kind words, all you folks in benchrest are just the best people we've ever met, you restored our faith in humanity. Yeah, sometimes on the web, it may appear benchresters are a grumpy lot, but in person they are just like family.
Hope to see ya'll on the road somewhere,
Cheryl and Charlie
