What's the difference between a "removable" pilot finish reamer, and a "solid" pilot finish reamer? Thanks. George

The removable pilot reamer can accept pilot bushings of varying diameter that can be interchanged to provide an exact fit with suitable clearance to the bore for precsion work.

The solid pilot reamer is of fixed diameter and must be ground to fit a certain bore diameter or a certain amount of excess clearance must be accepted in an under size pilot, which may yield a slightly over size chamber.
