Joe you are correct.

Somehow I missed this target. I have it in the stack of verified records in my shooting room but failed to upload it to Gary on the website.

John Carter presently holds the unlimited outdoor record with a nice 250-8X with a first miss on target 1.

The way I actually record the score is 250-8X-1

the 1 indicated that his first miss is a missed x on the first target.

John's target was shot at Open Grove on May 3rd. Excellent shooting and I apoligize for being late in reporting such good news.
 
Fred, I'll get that information for you

I'm pretty sure all the records but the Match Outdoor have been shot with a .177 cal. I'll verify tonight
 
If the match outdoor is NOT 177, I'd sure like to check that guns power.
 
I'm Confused

If a 20 cal or a 22 cal shot in a match, and they had the high score for said caliber, would that stand as a record until another using the same caliber shot a higher score?
 
All calibers shoot against each other with the plug equalizing the size of the hole and score in the scoring shack. My comment was directed at the fact that the "match" class is power limited and it would be near impossible to effectively shoot anything but 177 in that class.
 
The Match Outdoor Record was shot with a stock Walther 300. Its energy is about 5.5 ft lbs. I see no reason to have the power at 7 ft lbs. in the rules. Match guns don't have that much power.
 
I also failed to mention that the Walther is a stock 300 in .177 caliber.
 
Robbie, the reason for the rule is that a match gun could be adjusted for more power without too much trouble at all. In fact, the 300 is offered in a 20 ft/lb version for FT use. I was not accusing anyone of cheating, just that I was sure your gun had to be 177.
