Got cds dials for my 3006. Sent in the info for 150 gr. ballistic tips at 2850. Shot it at 100 yds. got it on. My question, would different bullets of the same weight and design shoot in the same place at say 400 yds. if the same speed? I don't have a place to shoot 400 or Id find out. Ive got a lot of 30 cal bullets layin around but their different kinds. Hornady interbonds and the noslers was what I wondered about. Doug
 
Short answer, "no"

Another answer, "as long as your parameters of "same place" are met, then yes"

Long answer???? "The same bullet won't print in the same spot on different days"

Mr Casner the 150 grain interbonds have a G1 BC of .415 and the Ballistic tips have a G1 BC of .435. They will not hit in the same place.
 
Thanks guys, Ive never done much long range shooting. I thought that bullet design or BC would enter in even though there the same weight. A round nose and a spitzer. So look at the BC. Those dials go to 700 yds. I wouldn't shoot at a animal that far. It would be fun to play with at a range. Its a hunting rifle, Remington 700, so if I could shoot 6 ins. at 400 Id be tickled to death. thanks Doug
 
Alinwa is correct on all accounts.....ebb too. You'll need to make a scope adjustment every day with any load, and sometimes during the day, when target shooting

That said, it's a hunting rifle and as long as your bullets strike within "minute of deer" you're likely good to go. Shoot the same load when shooting for group and when you switch loads note the difference. If that difference is a BIG difference then make your decision which to use when hunting and adjust your scope accordingly....before you leave the range.
