What is involved in setting up for the process.
I have a winchester model 94 (post 64) that has no finish left on it. I bought it with the intent to re-blue or case color the receiver.
 
pay someone to case color it, its not a do it yourself kind of project.
 
I was going to buy a nice low mileage one some time ago, the only problem being that the owner had grabbed the receiver with a bloody hand which stripped the bluing. I checked locally & couldn't find anybody who wanted to reblue it - too hard they all said.

the post 64 have a iron plating on them and then blued .If your polish them and try to blue them you will be disappointed .Talk to a professional about color case hardening .
