I have a vibrating case cleaner, I am tired of taking cleaning media out of primer pockets and primer holes. What is severyone using for case cleaning media
thanks

Check the NRA

reloading manual for using citric acid to clean cases. No expensive electrical unit needed. Just a couple large jars with caps, a bottle of citric acid powder from the druggist and some soap. Dry in the oven or air dry with a hair dryer. Been using the method for 30 some years and still using the first batch of citric acid. Of course I only use to clean some .222 or .223 and a few 30-06. Not a big quanity shooter. But an hour or so will clean a couple hundred rounds for pennies. Max

ultrasonic

all i use any more is ultrasonic

80/20 vinegar/water with a little soap

then water rinse with baking soda added

then rinse in hot water - let dry overnight.

gei,

I just vibrate mine with the spent primer still in the case.

What is everyone using for case cleaning media.
Thanks

Nothing !!! Wipe off the outside of the neck (with Nevr-Dull, a piece of cloth, or OOOO steel wool), full length size, clean the primer pocket, brush out the neck (some don't do this) and reload. It couldn't be easier.

Just clean them before sizing and decapping, less chance of scratching your die also

I mix my own case lube. About 1/3 Johnsons paste wax, 1/3 or more vasoline and 1/3 or less of STP or something similar. Melt them together in a small tin and let cool. The wax keeps the cases clean. I use a small wad of 0000 steel wool to clean the carbon off the neck. Rub a finger over the lube and spread it on the case, then size/decap and a quick wipe with a paper towel or rag and the case is clean. Stopped tumbling couple years ago. Too much trouble, for nothing but looks. Every once in a while I will use Never dull on the case if it get too cruddy looking, but it is only for looks. Clean primer pocket and inside of neck too.

Careful!

Iosso case cleaner.
Dump the cases in the liquid, give it a couple swishes, rinse in hot water, drip dry, and stick them in the oven to get all the water out.

An oven will get hot enough to anneal the case head somewhat.

As far as the dust......

is concerned, just add 1 to 1.5 ozs of water, tumble it up for 5-10 mins, then add the cases, cuts down on the dust.;)
