I once had a Ruger #1 and put a Canjar Set Trigger on it------and it was a definite improvement over the factory trigger. The trigger left with the rifle.
I think Mr. Canjar died and don't know what finally happened to the business-----of it they're still in business under other people.
Its probably a long shot to find one but I'd think there should be some still around.
Yes Canjar is no longer in business. Read a lot of revues and discussions on both the Kepplinger and Canjar. I would prefer a Canjar but would be happy with either. Figure if I'm patient I'll find one or the other for a good price.
Thank you Al, More than I wanted to spend but I'll make him an offer, who knows. Brother sold a really nice one last year. He offered it to me but at the time I wasn't interested..Figures doesn't it. Think he got $150 or so for it.
If I remember correctly the only thing the Canjar trigger had over the OLD Ruger #1 or the Moyer trigger for the #1 is the single set system .Both the old #1 and Moyer have engagement adjustment were the New #1 Rugers do not .I don't know when they stopped providing it on the Rugers maybe some one else knows.

You probably already know, but Eben Brown is one of the shops offering accessories and work on Ruger No. 1's (http://www.eabco.com/Ruger01.html) and carries the Moyer and Kepplinger triggers ... but nothing is "cheap" these days.
Yes I've looked at other alternatives. My #1 has the 2 screw trigger and it's nasty. Made the mistake of buying a Jewell trigger for my 22-250 and now I hate every other trigger I've got. I can tell this is going to get expensive. But I'm pretty sure if I'm patient I'll find a canjar for a reasonable price. Need to do a little wood work on it also it has a tendancy to throw the first couple shots then settles in and groups pretty nice. Going to float the barrel and I hope that's all it takes. First shot usually hits about 3" left second about an 1 1/2. I bought it about 6-7 yrs ago and it's just been collecting dust. Decided it was time to devote some time to it. Love the looks of the #1's and this one has nice wood. It's a 25-06 which for some reason I've always liked.
