Folks, because of some sudden health issues with Canastota's long time match director, Butch Tarasek, this was a little touch and go for a bit but the scheduled match for 8/1-8/2 is up and running and hopefully some of you fine shooters will enjoy the kind of match that Canastota has been fortunate enough to host in the past. Several people have stepped up and pitched in to make sure this match runs well and hopefully we'll have some nice weather. Plenty of covered cleaning areas and the kitchen should be running for lunch. Coffee and donuts in the morning at a minimum. We should be up for some practice time on Friday. Any kind of heads up for the kitchen would be most appreciated.

If there's anything I can answer or help with shoot me an e-mail or call.

Well, it's starting to come togeather. Sounds like a few of the Southern boys are planning to come up, that sounds nice and I promise that you won't need the jackets and gloves this time.

OK, now that the Hog shoot is done, first congratulations to all the great shooters and second, for those folks that are not heading out to Dan's great PSL event in the mid west here is an update on the NY state/regional event at Canastota. The 2 primary spots to stay for you folks from out of town are as follows, both are only about 100 yards off of NYS Route 90 exit 34:
Graziano's Inn 315-697-8384
Days Inn 315-697-3309
We're getting the final details in place and you should know that we will have a drawing for a Hart barrel. Anything I can answer, let me know.

OK folks here's an update on directions. For you GPS shooters:
N43 07.182 W075 46.299
For anybody coming from the south, you're GPS will try and direct you east a bit too soon, Coming up from Rt 81 stay on the highway completely thru Syracuse, just north of the city you will see the clear direction for the NYS Thruway [RT90]. Enter eastbound and proceed about 15 miles to exit 34, Canastota. The motels are directly across from the Thruway exit. If proceeding to the range, at the exit take a right, over bridge, about 1/4 mile from the exit and take a left onto Warners road, there will be a club sign at the turn, about 2 miles down, club on right, hard to miss. Drive safely.

Safe driving to those planning the trip. A final note, we should be open for practice Friday morning 9:30 or so. Weather looks pretty good.

Tim,
Are there camping spots available? Not sure if I'm coming Fri. night or Sat. morning, but if it's Fri, how late will someone be at the range?
Todd
